New computers in Room 2 and 3!
Last week our network manager set up two new computers in Room 2 and Room 3 in our Nakajima Machi school. Constantly upgrading our facilities is part of our policy to offer our students high quality English education but at very affordable monthly lesson fees.
These days the WEC teachers are using computers more and more as an effective teaching aid. One way we use them is to play DVDs and video clips which can add extra reality, interest and meaning to our classes. This input of stimulating visual content as well as audio content facilitates comprehension and makes lessons more enjoyable. Although we usually have set course textbooks, using the Internet alongside a course book can be a great help to our teachers and students. Quite often we find that a picture can tell a thousand words; for example, the other day with an upper elementary class I wanted to explain what red hair was so I simply typed in those key words and the students were able to see examples of red hair in the photos that appeared in Google Images.
